Avian Influenza Q and A
Guidance for pig and poultry keepers within Avian influenza Protection and Surveillance Zones
General licence for the movement of mammals from or to premises in the protection or surveillance zone where poultry or other captive birds are kept (EXD247(HPAI)(EW))
Due to Avian Influenza, movement restrictions apply to units holding pigs and poultry. You need to abide by the terms of the EXD247 General license, found here. If it is not possible to meet the terms or the activity is not covered by the general licence please go to the Defra Website to apply for a specific movement license. For further clarification, please contact the APHA Licensing Team: Telephone: 03000 200 301 Email: outbreak.licensing@apha.gov.uk If the unit is complaint with the conditions listed on the General License you do not need to print off the licence You only need to print a Specific Movement License if you do not meet the terms of the General Licence This licence is valid from 5:45pm on 25 November 2024 and revokes and replaces the EXD247(HPAI)(EW) licence which came into force at 3:05pm on 14 November 2024.
